Pot size

We sell plants in a number of different pot sizes - 9cm, 1 litre, 2 litre, 3 litre, 5 litre, 10 litre and 15 litre. Where possible we provide pictures of plants in the relevant pot sizes on the product pages so that you have an idea of the plant you are buying. For comparison, the picture on the right shows these pots sizes in ascending order from 1 litre to 15 litre.

Plant size

Generally the size of a plant is limited by the room available for root growth. Whilst all plants grow differently, you will be able to get a sense of the size of the plant you will receive from the size of the pot you are purchasing it in. 

A key factor in how the plant will look when it arrives is determined by the season. Whilst some plants (such as laurels) are evergreen and generally look the same year-round, other plants that are deciduous may look completely different if you buy them in the winter compared to buying them in the summer. Many perennials are herbaceous, which means they will completely die back over the winter before growing anew in the spring. Of course, it is also worth paying attention to the flowering period of each plant - whilst hydrangeas for example, can look spectacular in flower they look very different in the winter!
